Patricia Bergeson’s colorful acrylic paintings depict power and movement in her city and townscapes, land and waterscapes, buildings, animals, and abstracts.
Living in Idaho Patricia is heavily influenced by the seasonal extremes in weather. Those extremes in skies and water are often reflected in her paintings.
Photographing subject matter for her paintings, Patricia eventual decided to photograph her artwork using one of her Nikon or Sony cameras.
Patricia was born and raised in Idaho, she attended Idaho State University, graduating with a B.S. degree in Human Resource Development and Corporate Training. Patricia took one year of art in high school and art history in college, principally she is a self-taught artist. Her high school teacher said she would never be an artist, but the love and interest of art was always forefront in her life. She could not deny the call.
Patricia drew with pencil and pen for several years, then worked with watercolors before trying acrylic paints. After years of drawing and learning to layer with watercolor Patricia turned to the versatile medium of acrylic painting.
Layering from light to dark, dark to light, cool to warm, warm to cool Patricia works in layers from photographs or from working on-site as much as possible.
